Singapore has a roster of laws and regulations for business activities that generally involve renting and leasing.

A. General Prohibition on Illegal Goods

  • Motor Vehicles (Third-Party Risks And Compensation) Act (Cap. 189) regulates third-party risks and compensation for injury or death due to the use of motor vehicles.
  • Merchant Shipping Act (Cap. 179) governs the registration of ships and merchant shipping.
D. Renting Of Personal & Household Goods
  • Broadcasting Act (Cap. 28) relates to the installation, import, sale, possession or operation of broadcasting apparatus.
  • Films Act (Cap. 107) covers issues such as the censorship and classification of films, as well as the licensing of businesses involved in the importing, making, distributing or exhibition of films.
  • Undesirable Publications Act (Cap. 338) governs matters relating to the importation, distribution or reproduction of undesirable publications.
