Licenses & Permits for Renting & Leasing Activities
Renting out goods in Singapore requires you to apply for certain licenses or permits. Provided below are some of the business licenses and permits you may need:
- Dealers’ Licence allows you to sell, import or rent broadcasting equipment. This license can be obtained from the Media Development Authority (MDA).
- Registration & Licensing Of Vessels Including Pleasure Crafts is required to register vessels, ships and leisure boats. Thus, if your business is providing vessels, ship and leisure boat rental services, you need to obtain this license.
- Film (Distribution/Exhibition) Licence, which can be obtained from the Media Development Authority (MDA), is required to import, produce and distribute videos. If you own a video rental shop, or if you are a video distributor, you need to have this license.
